Nanomedicine is been a breakthrough for years due to its high efficiency in bactericidal property, antioxidant and cancer therapeutics. Silver Nanoparticle (AgNPs) being the safest metal was utilized in this biosynthesis method to synthesize AgNPs utilizing Piaractus brachypomus skin mucus, a biomolecule abundant source for the conversion of nanoparticle. The converted nanoparticle was characterized using UV spectrometric analysis exhibit a peak at 410nm, FTIR and XRD found properties corresponds to AgNPs, FESEM-EDAX identified average size of AgNPs as 35.303±23.43nm, EDAX confirmed silver through secondary diffraction. The highest bactericidal zone was 16mm against Salmonella spp., and antifungal activity was evident against Candida albicans and Dermatophytes spp. The DPPH exhibit a significant antioxidant activity of 49.32% at 10μL. The cytotoxicity analysis revealed 88% cytotoxic effect at 100μL exhibiting IC₅₀ of 58.05 µg/mL, and a CC₅₀ of 434µg/mL on Vero cells, yielding 7.5 selectivity index lead AgNPs, a significant candidate for biomedical application.
